Mastering Your Days with rationalize.me: Unveiling the Power of the Plan Area

Plan Area

In the rhythm of life, an effective daily routine is the cornerstone of productivity and accomplishment. rationalize.me seamlessly integrates this philosophy into its Plan area, offering a dynamic space to orchestrate your daily, weekly, and long-term plans.

At the heart of the Plan area lies the concept of task backlogs.

Today, Tomorrow, and Beyond

Begin your day by gaining a clear understanding of your priorities. Access the Plan area in the application and navigate to the Today backlog.

By default, Today's activities are categorized into priority groups using the Eisenhower matrix. You can enhance this organization by adding separate groups for Scheduled tasks. This visual distinction helps you identify items with strict due dates, making them the most critical ones.

Additionally, you can activate the Continues groups to view tasks that are currently in progress for you. While not critical, it allows you to work on these tasks when you have available time slots for them.

Tasks are grouped by goal, project, and parent task, if any, in addition to priority. Click on them to open the corresponding project in the Tasks area.

As the day progresses, feel free to adjust your tasks by updating priorities, moving them to different backlogs if necessary, and marking off completed items.

In the evening, smoothly transition to the Tomorrow backlog, where you assemble the lineup for the following day. Move any uncompleted tasks from Today and review the Weekly items you plan to complete tomorrow.

The magic happens at midnight, as rationalize.me automatically shifts Tomorrow's tasks to Today, ensuring a fresh start.

Weekly, Monthly and Yearly Strategies

On Sunday evening or Monday morning, participate in a strategic planning session by filling out the Week backlog. Explore your Monthly Backlog to select tasks for the upcoming week. Consider external factors to create a practical plan.

At the end of each month, strategize for the upcoming month by using items from the Year backlog as a guide for your Month backlog. Reflect on your accomplishments, refine your goals, and carefully choose tasks for the next month.

Utilize the Year backlog to establish overarching goals and aspirations for the year. Review these items regularly to ensure that you are making progress toward achieving your long-term goals.

This backward planning technique allows you to align your daily actions with your larger life goals and ensures a balance between short-term and long-term goals.

The Someday Backlog: A Treasure Trove of Ideas

The Someday backlog acts as a repository for ideas and plans without specific deadlines. Utilize this space for long-term aspirations and creative projects. Use this storage to capture creative sparks and visionary goals.

At least once a year, take a moment to unearth a gem from the Someday backlog and elevate it to the Year backlog.
